The difference between cpp film and pp film

The difference between CPP film and PP film is mainly reflected in their production process, characteristics and uses.

Production Process

CPP (Cast Polypropylene Film) is a polypropylene film produced through a cast extrusion process. This process makes the CPP film have a certain orientation in the longitudinal direction (MD), but no obvious orientation in other directions.

PP (polypropylene) film is a film made through extrusion and blow molding processes and has high heat resistance.

Characteristic

CPP film has excellent clarity and smoothness due to its rapid cooling on chilled casting rollers. Compared with other types of films, CPP films have lower costs, higher yields, higher stiffness than PE films, and excellent moisture and odor barrier properties.

PP film is known for its high heat resistance, so it is suitable for making retort bags and other packaging that require disinfection and sterilization.

CPP film is often used for food packaging, especially the packaging of high-end clothing and fine food, because it has good transparency. In addition, CPP films can also be divided into general CPP, aluminized CPP and cooking grade CPP according to different uses.

Due to its heat resistance, PP film is also often used to make packaging products that require high temperature resistance.

To sum up, although CPP film and PP film are similar in production process, they are different in characteristics and uses.
